Ping WordPress - reduce the load on the server

I like to speed up the work of WordPress, reduce the load on the server and all that is connected with it.

Today I will tell you how you can reduce the load on the server when writing new posts or edit old ones.

Once you've written a new article and clicked "Publish», WordPress «throws» Home page, updates the database, creates a site map (if you have the plugin) and pings update services from your list. Moreover, it does these operations simultaneously. With a small number of processes is not a big load, respectively. But if your blog has grown out of the 'new', the load can be very large.

I propose a simple solution. In the functions.php file, add the line:

Now WordPress postpone pinging. Ping will only take place after the completion of all previous operations on the publication (edited) post, update a database, etc.

In the latest WP 2.8. * This feature is enabled by default.

Sorry Ahmed, but his version of WP in the network, it does not "shine", so as not to give clues to various "craftsmen".

Thanks for the article. Do I understand that with 2.8 this feature is already built?

Tried to find out the version with the wp-admin - locked.
    Tried other place successfully. :)
Send an email if interested. Also prompt a couple of sites with bugtrack wordpress.
